Who this policy covers

This policy explains how PULSE collects, uses and protects personal information when you use this website, make an enquiry, or engage PULSE for advisory or placement services. PULSE is the data controller for the information described here.

Information collected

• Enquiry information. Name, email address, telephone number, company or context, location, and anything you choose to include in your message.
• Candidate information. CVs, work history, qualifications, references, right-to-work information and any other details provided when applying for or being considered for a role.
• Client information. Contact details, role requirements, and business information shared during an engagement.
• Technical information. Basic analytics such as pages visited and approximate location, collected to understand how the site is used.

How information is used

• To respond to enquiries and provide advisory or placement services.
• To consider candidates for current or future roles, and to introduce candidates to clients with their knowledge.
• To meet legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
• To improve how this website works.

Information is never sold, rented or traded. Candidate details are never shared with a client without the candidate's agreement, and client details are never shared with a candidate beyond what a genuine introduction requires.

Legal basis

PULSE processes personal information on the basis of legitimate interests (providing advisory and placement services), consent (where you have opted in, such as being kept on file for future roles), contract (delivering agreed work), and legal obligation (where retention or disclosure is required by law).

How long information is kept

• Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for 12 months.
• Candidate information is kept for 2 years from your last contact, so suitable future roles can be considered, unless removal is requested sooner.
• Client records are kept for 6 years after an engagement ends, in line with UK legal and tax requirements.

Who information is shared with

Personal information is shared only where necessary: with a client or candidate as part of an agreed introduction, and with service providers who support the running of the business, such as email, file storage and website hosting providers. Those providers act on instructions and may not use the information for their own purposes. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to access the information held about you, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and request a copy in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, that consent can be withdrawn at any time.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security and international transfers

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Because PULSE works with clients and candidates internationally, information may be transferred outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are applied.

Cookies

This site uses only the essential cookies required for it to function, together with basic, aggregated analytics. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or deleted through their settings.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
